Tunisian olive wood is naturally rich in character and beauty. Due to its organic growth, each piece may develop slight cracks or subtle shifts over time ; a reflection of its living past. For centuries, olive trees have been deeply rooted in North African soil, especially around ancient Carthage, the heart of Punic civilization. These trees witnessed the rise of a powerful maritime culture that valued craftsmanship, trade, and natural abundance. At Maison Punic, we embrace this heritage by carefully shaping and sanding each product, and finishing it with pure olive oil for both protection and natural radiance ; keeping the spirit of Carthage alive in every piece.

Hello and welcome! I’m Imen, born and raised in Tunis, the vibrant heart of Tunisia where ancient Carthage once stood.
I grew up surrounded by history, with the Mediterranean Sea on one side and centuries-old olive trees on the other. The ruins of Carthage weren’t just monuments; they were part of daily life, a constant reminder of the deep roots and rich heritage we carry.
As a child, olive oil and olive trees were everywhere:
In our kitchens, in our gardens, in our stories. Olives were not just for cooking: it was a remedy, a beauty ritual, a symbol of care. The strength and elegance of the olive tree always fascinated me.
After moving to the Netherlands over 10 years ago, I pursued a career in finance.
It was rewarding, but as time passed, I found myself longing for a deeper connection to the culture and traditions that shaped me. The older I got, the more I valued natural materials, authentic craftsmanship, and the simple elegance of Mediterranean living.
My passion for cooking, hosting, and creating a warm, welcoming table led me to olive wood; first as a consumer, now as a vendor.
What started as a personal journey to bring a piece of home into my daily life has become Maison Punic: my way of celebrating the beauty, sustainability, and heritage of Tunisia.
